Currently we are partnered with a preferred client in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry in search of a highly talented Associate Director of Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) for their innovative R&D team in Cambridge MA.
Job Summary:
Join our clients Translational Disease Modeling (TDM) group as a QSP modeling scientist supporting their R&D portfolio. In this role youll develop sophisticated models representing key biological processes of pathophysiology and drug mechanisms of action to enhance understanding of disease and therapeutic response. Through QSP modelbased simulations youll help predict drug efficacy in virtual patients working within a dynamic multidisciplinary environment to drive strategy and decisionmaking in drug research and development.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design build and apply QSP modeling approaches to support decision making
- Interface with project teams to identify opportunities and develop innovative mechanistic modeling strategies
- Communicate modeling predictions to key stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to support QSP efforts
- Identify and interpret preclinical and clinical data for model development
- Maintain stateoftheart knowledge of relevant modeling approaches
- Contribute to scientific abstracts and manuscripts
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering Applied Mathematics Systems Biology/Pharmacology or related field
- 5 years of mathematical modeling & simulation experience within pharmaceutical industry
- Proven track record of productivity and independence in leading scientific projects
- Strong handson experience with Matlab (preferred) R or Julia
- Extensive experience with differential equationbased models and parameter optimization
- Deep understanding of mathematical modeling theory principles and statistical aspects
- Strong foundation in cell biology physiology and basic principles of pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics
