Roles and responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, looking for someone accountable for proactively soliciting and finding sales opportunities. Ensures business is turned over properly. Assists in leading all day-to-day activities related to sales with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of sales objectives. Achieves personal sales goals. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for achieving hotel targets by optimizing revenues through the deployment accounts, as well as prospecting new business through the source markets assigned. The key measurement of performance will be performance versus the revenue goals
- Managing the government segment. Managing regional accounts within various geographic areas especially GCC, ensuring revenue maximization, achievement of personal targets
- Securing revenue for different revenue streams, Rooms, Meetings & Events, and F&B.
- Implementing an action plan to increase the hotel ADR and total hotel revenue
- Conduct site inspections and participate in travel shows, GSO activities
- Manage Semi Government and General Services identities to increase the hotel’s share
- Accounts’ business reviews with strategic business partners to evaluate the performance and build/enhance the accounts’ commercial plan accordingly
- SMART contracting to ensure optimum yielding during annual rate negotiations
- Weekly sales activities with results
- Understands the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc. and knows how to sell against them.
Desired candidate profile
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 3 years experience in sales and marketing or related professional area. OR 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 1 year experience in sales and marketing or related professional area
- Three (3) years experience in a Sales position, preferably in a global hotel chain
- Local market experience is mandatory. GCC market knowledge is preferred
- Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment
- Professional communication skills with consumers, stakeholders, and regional office
- Confident personality with leadership skills with good presentation skills
- English – excellent oral and written skills
- Computer literacy adapted to the field of Sales: strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word)
- Self-motivated personality and a great team player, who supports the team members and coaches them with previous experience
