The Policy Manager will play a pivotal role in monitoring and influencing policy and technology developments ensuring that the businesss longterm investment strategies align with emerging opportunities. This role involves shaping policy particularly in renewable energy sectors and interacting with key stakeholders across the energy domain to advance the organization s Net Zero strategy.
THE ROLE:
- Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert on energy policy within the organization.
- Develop and implement comprehensive policy and advocacy plans.
- Monitor and assess the impact of EU Irish and UK energy and climate policies on the company s investment strategy and business plans.
- Provide clear concise recommendations to senior management on policy issues.
- Engage with senior stakeholders across the energy sector to advocate for policies aligned with the company s Net Zero objectives.
- Lead crossfunctional teams to address policyrelated challenges and support regulation and asset development teams.
- Draft consultation responses position papers and contribute to broader industry policy development.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- A relevant 3rd level qualification or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of the Irish UK and EU energy systems and policies.
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguity propose strategic options and advocate confidently for policy initiatives.
- Exceptional communication analytical and influencing skills with the ability to simplify complex regulatory issues.
