Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory standards.
Reinsurance Reporting: Oversee monthly reports and settlements with reinsurance partners.
Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish internal controls and conduct audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Accounting Operations: Manage daily accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable payroll and general ledger.
Tax Compliance: Ensure timely tax filings and develop strategies to minimize liabilities.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and optimize working capital.
Audit Coordination: Manage external audits and serve as the main point of contact for auditors.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop the accounting team fostering a collaborative environment.
Technology Management: Oversee accounting software and ERP systems for optimal efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (CPA required).
Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience including 5 years in leadership.
Experience in the life insurance and annuities industry is required.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and reinsurance reporting.
