Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development/General Manager to drive business growth in the Japanese market. You will be responsible for developing and executing our current and new business identifying new business opportunities and cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders in the DIY Retail Homecenters and professional retailers and online channels. Having a distributor network to open doors with new partners to work with. Experience or network in hardware importers is a preference. In this challenging commercial leading role you maintain existing and new relationships with Channel partners and distributors. Enthusiasm and professional attitude enable you to expand the business with the current customer base and newly activated customers. In this role you report to Sales Director based out of Europe so a good level in speaking and writing English is crucial.
- Responsible for leading and managing the sales team in Japan to ensure that the sales goals set by the company are achieved.
- You will establish and maintain good business relationships with customers to ensure customer satisfaction while constantly exploring new customers and channels.
- You need to have excellent communication and negotiation skills and be able to effectively communicate with team members and customers to resolve issues during the sales process.
- You will participate in formulating sales strategies analyzing market trends and providing strategic suggestions for the companys sales activities.
- Attending trade shows or customer events and regularly visit customers locally to sit together to expand and grow common business.
- Be aware of trends competition and market needs and search for opportunities in opening doors to present our client brand as a premium vendor for all customers.
Requirements
- Education requirements: Bachelor degree or above majors tend to be international trade marketing economic management and other related majors.
- Language ability: Perfect level at both Japanese and English.
- Work experience requirement: Engaged in international trade and business for more than 5 years able to independently develop overseas market and have certain market planning and product expansion capabilities
- Professional skills requirements: Be familiar with foreign trade business processes be able to independently handle common problems and emergencies that arise during order execution and have certain market analysis and judgement capabilities.
- Other requirements: good teamwork spirit execution ability adaptability and excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proactively attitude with positive mindset. Knowledge of local habits and cultural aspects
- Familiar with leading a team and willing to travelling and visiting customers on regular base.
