Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- To hold a key role in the management of the inpatients of the Poynton SpineCare
- Complete regular inpatient ward rounds in collaboration with spine consultants.
- Communicate with all consultants of the Poynton Spine Care
- Work collaboratively with other persons to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to care is used for all patients referred to patients of the Poynton SpineCare
- Provide mentorship preceptorship and education for nursing colleagues as appropriate.
- Organise the planning and implementation of care for spine patients and their significant others.
Requirements
Registered General Nurse with The Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible to register with NMBI.
5 years postregistration experience in the acute hospital setting/relevant clinical area within the last seven years.
A minimum of three years experience in the specialist area of orthopedics and / or spine surgery.
Management experience desirable.
Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibility within his/her scope of practice.
Have evidence of continuing professional development.
Formal recognized postregistration education relevant to the area of specialist practice at level 8 (higher Diploma) according to the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) National Framework is desirable.
