Job Description
Inpatient/Acute Care Speech Language Pathologist REQ ID: 60956 Start Date: ASAP Shift: 4x10s or 5x8s (flexible) Years of Experience: 1 First Timers Accepted: Yes Certs REQ: BLS Alaska SLP License Skills REQ: Acute Care Experience FEES MBSIMP Is oncall REQ: No Weekend REQ: Yes. Will include some/minimal weekends Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs: N/a Open to accommodating block schedule: No Locals Accepted: No Candidates perm address must be at least 50 miles from facility Pending License Accepted: Yes RTO Restrictions: Time off approved on an individual basis upon offer Guaranteed Hours: 70 Hours per 2 weeks Traveler can be called off for 1 10hour shift per 2 weeks (or 1 8hour shift per 2 weeks depending on schedule) UNIT DESCRIPTION: Unit census is 5070 patients daily 56 SLPs scheduled weekdays and 34 on w/es. FEES and MBS. All SLPs required to complete MBSIMP. Patients dont have a lot of postacute discharge facility options often get stuck in the hospital so SLPs will be treating patients from ICU level to SNF/OP level. ICU rotation is not required and SLP will be assessed for clinical readiness to cover ICU. General Skills Experience PREFERRED: Transfer Training Video Fluoroscopy Multiple Sclerosis Muscular Dystrophy Adult Exp PREFERRED: Coma Stimulation (Adult) Anoxia REQUIRED: Telephone Calls Aphasia Apraxia Dementia/Alzheimers FACILITY INFORMATION Type of Facility: Acute Hospital Magnet/Teaching/Level Trauma: Magnet Facility Level II Trauma USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska Total Staffed Beds: 407 Scrub Color: Any or business casual Charting: Epic Parking Cost: Parking is free
