We are seeking an organized reliable and driven Network Engineer to work as part of our field service team to install troubleshoot and repair data networks at Naval Undersea Warfare (NUWCDIVNPT) in Newport RI. The engineer will work internally as part of organizations IT support team and externally to provide networking solutions for the organizations clients.
This position requires onsite work in Newport Rhode Island.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install all new hardware systems and software for networks
- Install configure and maintain network services equipment and devices
- Configure / software upgrades on routers switches and other network hardware
- Plans and supports network and computing infrastructure
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems and outages
- Schedule updates and upgrades
- Documents network problems and resolution for future reference
Position Requirements:
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Possess excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
- Available to work outside of regular working hours and weekends
- Advance experience with Cisco IOS and deploying Cisco routers/switches
- Minimum two years experience with computer hardware installation and repair
- Handson experiences implementing and administrating network devices firewalls routers VPN and backup applications.
- Certifications Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- CompTIA Security or CompTIA CASP
Additional Requirements:
- Position requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance with the US government; active security clearance preferred
- Military or government experience preferred but not necessary
- Ability to obtain a US passport active passport preferred
- Travel required within the United States and Internationally (Bahamas / twice a year up to two weeks at a time)
