The EHR PMO Manager under the direction of the EHR ITProgram Executive and in collaboration with the EHR program director for theoversight and management of project managers performance and day to dayactivities.The PMO managers accountabilities are the following:
- Accountable for the oversight and managementof project managers performance and day to day activities
- Accountable for ensuring that the project managers are ontrack to meet the needs of program director s required deliverables.
- Accountable for creating and maintaining the staffingplan org chart roles and responsibilities
- Accountable for creating consistent transparent andmeaningful standard program reporting template in partnership with the programdirector executives project managers and Epic leaders
- Accountable for acting as an escalation path for theexecutives leaders program director Epic leaders project managers on theproject management processes relationship building conflicts and otherneeds.
The PMO managers responsibilities include:
- Responsiblefor people and performance management all the project managers
- Holddaily/weekly communications with the project manager to understand and assistthe project managers on project management (not programlevel business ortechnical decisions).
- Ensuresthat there is a baseline schedule for the respective projects managed by theproject managers
- Ensuresthat the project managers are keeping the project schedule cost and othercomponents of DIT s touchdown tool every week by COB every Thursday
- Reviewand provide input on status reports and metrics project managers prepare beforepublishing.
- Ensuresall PMs are providing status reports in the same format on time to meet theprogram reporting needs
- Settingclear expectations for team members including project management deliverablesand trackers associated with the respective workstream
- Partnerswith the project director and Epic implementation director to provide specificassistance to the program
- Manageadvise and coach team members by providing guidance on project issues keyproject success factors and lessons learned.
- Reinforcingthe importance of the project together with the executives and the programdirector and providing consistent communication to the project team.
- Managecapacity demand and utilization of resources needs
- Buildstrong relationships with the executives program directors Project ManagersAnalysts Epic DIT and business to influence outcomes.
- Facilitatesmeetings (not regular project meetings) aligned toward critical escalationconflicts and resolutions to longwinding and pending challenges
- Createjob descriptions and responsibilities for new hires or backfills
- Participatesin the interview panel to select project managers analysts and other criticalroles
- Recommendhiring and rolling off staff in collaboration with the program directorleaders and staffing plan.
- Travelonsite for a week every month for team collaborations celebrate victories andteam building
- Be oncamera during meetings and oneonone calls for effective collaborations
Education:
Bachelor s or master s degree in computer scienceinformation systems business administration or related field with seven ormore years experience in combined (waterfall and agile) environments alongwith applicable certifications such as (not all are required)
- Project Management Institute Certification (PMP PgMPPfMP ACP etc.)
- Scrum Alliance (CAL CSP CSM CSPO or advanced certs)
- Scaled Agile Framework Certification (SAFe SA or SAFe SPC)
- Kanban (KCP AKT TKP KanbanEXP)
Experience:
- Fifteen or more years of overall experience in IT andbusiness/industry
- Seven years of experience in combined (waterfall andagile) environments
- Five to seven years of leadership responsibilities
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience with one or more agile or traditionalmethodologies (Scrum Kanban SAFe Waterfall etc.).
- Program management skills and experience plussignificant knowledge of productivity tools with evidence of practicalapplication (which is highly desirable).
