LPNs
1. The NICOE LPN will provide services at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICOE). The primary operating hours are Monday through Friday(7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
1. LPN Pediatric Clinic SHIFT HOURS SUN MON TUE WED THU FRI SAT 6:30am 5:30pm
Duties: Coordinate patient care through a continuum and facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to care quality and cost effectiveness.
1. Maintain excellent patient assessment skills. The contracted LPN/LVN will demonstrate proper preparation of patients for treatments and procedures to include surgical interventions.
2. Perform/assist with clinic specific procedures in accordance with established policies and guidelines used in the MTF.
3. Skill in setting up operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment such as IV infusion pumps cardiac monitoring devices EKG units oxygen analyzers nebulizers and other clinic specific equipment.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills for patient/family education. Prescribes and communicates treatment plans in accordance with provider/RN direction established clinic protocols.
5. Demonstrate excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation both written and electronic of all activity in accordance with requirements.
6. Demonstrated ability to recognize adverse signs and symptoms and reacts quickly and appropriately in emergency situations. Must have the ability to obtain assess and report critical lab or diagnostic results to patients physician in a timely manner.
7. Demonstrated ability to act on all medical and therapeutic orders in a timely manner.
8. Shall demonstrate and adhere to perioperative infection control and safety policies and procedures used in the MTF
9. Schedules appointments arranges for procedures and performs telephone/email followup as appropriate. Review and appropriately disposition all incoming phone and secure email messages from patients to clinical team in accordance with clinic standard operating procedures including requests for medications lab or radiology results referrals and appointments complaints of new symptoms and administrative issues.
10. Shall demonstrate good time management skills and effectively multitask between inperson clinical Care and administrative computer and telephonebased duties in a highpace work environment.
11. Shall input data and clinical information into the medical record and retrieve requested information such as laboratory radiology and procedure results. Maintain knowledge of all resources included in the clinic and educate patients about them appropriately.
