Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Keep organized and accurate records reports and timetracking documents.
- Install test maintain and repair circuit breakers transformers relays and other electrical equipment in substations and power plants.
- Identify and troubleshoot limited complexity electrical problems in circuits and equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance using various testing equipment.
- Regularly test calibrate and adjust different types of induction and static relays.
- Conduct switching operations and report any unusual conditions to the dispatcher.
- Help with checking electrical apparatus calibrating protective relays and preparing test reports.
- Learn about substation circuits equipment operations and testing methods.
- Fulfill all required Job Skill Demonstrations and progression tests for promotion to Substation Relay Tester.
Qualifications:
- 3 Years of experience in relay testing and substation commissioning (15kV to 500kV)
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Ability to travel to client utility sites across the U.S. with overnight stays.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel and Word.
Preferred:
- Experience with utilities.
- Full lifecycle testing of substations
- Ability to analyze protection equipment issues
- Familiarity with Doble protection ProTest AcSELerator or Renoserv
- Experience with substation shielding and grounding plans.
- Strong electrical and mechanical skills with attention to detail.
