IL - Behavioral Health RN - Nights

Mobile Health Team Inc. a staffing agency has an opening for a Behavioral Health RN. We are looking for someone with a passion for people.

Location: Centreville IL 62207

Assignment Start Date: 11/18/2024

13 weeks Night 12hour shift 36hours guaranteed per week

The Registered Nurse (RN) manages and coordinates the nursing care activities during the clients hospitalization following organization policies and procedures. This includes assessment diagnosis planning and establishing outcomes implementation and evaluation. Based on this process the RN directs and is responsible for other personnel involved in client care. The RN maintains professional accountability for all nursing care provided to clients in the organization. Demonstrates competency in nursing judgment. Maintains awareness of economic barriers to health care and acts accordingly. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing care needs and treatments for clients of various clinical specialties in compliance with established standards of nursing practice. Will be required to work with clients 18 years of age and older.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to organize and coordinate nursing care delivery for clients assigned.
• No performance deficiencies were caused by failure to adapt to new techniques.
• Ability to direct others in health care delivery.
• Requires regular talking and hearing.
• Must be able to stand for 46 hours.
• Provides direct client care activities if required following defined department and organization policies and procedures.
• Requires a concentrated level of attention.
• Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.

FUNCTIONS DUTIES

• Provides appropriate nursing care by planning organizing and directing the nursing functions of clients on the unit.
• Makes nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level of employees.
• Identifies problems and uses critical thinking skills to develop solutions.
• Creates a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction for personnel.
• Accurately and promptly implements physicians orders.
• Prepares administers and records medications following the policy regarding the administration of medications.
• Records information concisely accurately and completely.
• Complies with all infection control policies and procedures.
• Coordinates and provides emergency care as needed.
• Participates in orientation and inservice training for personnel.
• Evaluates the performance of personnel with recommendations for appropriate action.
• Complies with all organization policies and assists in the review and revision of policies and procedures.
• Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communication.
• Adjust interventions based on ageappropriate guidelines as indicated.
• Demonstrates abilities to set priorities in directing and/or providing safe client care by functioning in an organized and timeconscious manner.
• Complies with and is knowledgeable of organization and department safety procedures and policies.
• Contributes to the care of the environment by maintaining work areas and assisting with light housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Maintains customers rights (confidentiality privacy safety security).
• Adapts easily to changes in work assignments and environment. Accepts working assignments according to client care needs following job skill level.
• Performs basic tasks promptly with minimum guidance and supervision.
• Demonstrates willingness to work toward department and organization goals and objectives.
• Assists with the development and implementation of unit goals.
• Conducts group therapies and assigned.
• Participates in multidisciplinary treatment planning and revises plan of care based on assessment.
• Participate and promote activities regarding Process Improvement.
• Provides care based on the clients agespecific needs.
• Supports the organizations philosophy participates as a team member and shows courtesy respect and concern for the needs of others.
• New methods are quickly learned and integrated into job responsibilities..
• Adheres to nursing staffing and scheduling policy (to include use of overtime).
• Follows chain of command resolving any issues or problems identified.
• Monitors clients and documents appropriately according to risk precaution level.
• Maintains a safe environment monitoring continuously for any harmful contraband.
• Attends inservices training and meetings as required.
• Develops and evaluates own goals for professional growth.
• Attends and participates in departmental meetings.
• Maintains an active role in maintaining customer service.
• Establishes collaborative relationships with physicians and other members of the health care team.
• Promotes harmonious relationships among the health care team and internal/external customers.
• Supports and demonstrates the organizations mission and philosophy through selfexample.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience preferred.

Education:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• B.S.N. or equivalent years of experience preferred

Licenses Certifications and/or Registration:

• Current and valid IL RN licensure is required
• BLS certification is required.

EMR System: Meditech experience desired

Shift: Night shift; includes every other weekend and holidays

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:

• Demonstrates clinical competence;
• Assumes responsibility for own continued personal and professional growth.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment (i.e. copier facsimile machine 10key etc.); personal computer and printer and specific computer software (MS Office applications and Meditech).
• Adept at grasping and reaching with hands/arms.
• Ability to lift up to but not limited to 25 pounds when assisting clients turning clients or assisting clients with activities.
• Requires bending stooping and walking.
• Requires good body mechanics to prevent injury.
