Job Description

Our client is a leading financial institution with a global presence and a reputation for excellence in banking services. They offer a wide range of financial products and services to corporate institutional and individual clients.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sanctions Compliance Officer m/f/d to join our clients Financial Crime team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations comply with international sanctions laws and regulations. You will be responsible for investigating potential sanctions violations implementing sanctions screening processes and advising on sanctionsrelated matters to mitigate risk.

Tasks

  • Develop implement and maintain the banks sanctions compliance policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in sanctions laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Conduct sanctions screening and investigations of transactions customers and counterparties.
  • Identify potential sanctions risks and provide advice on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure proper training and awareness of sanctions compliance requirements.
  • Assist in responding to regulatory inquiries audits and examinations related to sanctions compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of sanctionsrelated activities decisions and reporting.
  • Conduct periodic sanctions compliance reviews and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the banks sanctions compliance program.
  • Liaise with external parties such as regulators industry bodies and peers to stay informed of emerging trends and best practices in sanctions compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Law Finance Business Administration or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in sanctions compliance preferably in a financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of international sanctions regimes (EU OFAC UN etc.) and related regulations.
  • Experience in sanctions screening tools transaction monitoring and investigations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
