Job Description
- Develop and maintain detailed cost estimates for projects at various stages (preliminary detailed and final).
- Analyze project requirements and specifications to identify all cost components.
- Create and manage project budgets ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals.
- Monitor budget performance throughout the project lifecycle providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Implement cost control measures and methodologies to track and report on project expenditures.
- Identify costsaving opportunities and recommend strategies to optimize project finances.
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to project teams and management.
- Utilize forecasting techniques to predict future project costs and variances.
- Work closely with project managers finance teams and other stakeholders to ensure financial alignment.
- Facilitate communication regarding financial performance and budgetary issues.
- Assess financial risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct costbenefit analyses to inform decisionmaking.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations regarding cost management.
- Stay updated on best practices and trends in project cost.
Requirements
- NQF Level 6 in Project Management or equivalent.
- Relevant cost planning qualification (e.g. Cost Engineering Quantity Surveying).
- Minimum of 5 years in project cost planning with demonstrable experience in budgeting and financial management.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and financial modeling tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education
Qualifications NQF Level 6 in Project Management or equivalent. Relevant cost planning qualification (e.g., Cost Engineering, Quantity Surveying). Experience: Minimum of 5 years in project cost planning, with demonstrable experience in budgeting and financial management.
