JOB TITLE: MANAGING DIRECTOR
PURPOSE
Our client a leading cement manufacturing company committed to delivering highquality cement products for regional infrastructure development is currently seeking a Managing Director.
Reporting to the Board of Directors the Managing Director will be responsible for executing the organizations strategic plans and policies as approved by the Board. Additionally the role entails leading the management team and serving as the teams representative on the Board of Directors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Work with the Board to revitalize the company as a Commerciallyviable Socially and Environmentallyresponsible with Sound Governance Structures;
b) Drive performance through strategic leadership and direction to management
c) Spearhead the establishment and sustenance of Relationships with Strategic partners and Stakeholders.
d) Ensure achievement of the Company s operating financial goals in line with budgets and annual performance contracts negotiated with the parent ministry.
e) Ensure compliance with the applicable statutory legal and regulatory requirements and establish mitigation measures against emerging business risks.
f) Enhance the Companys public image by promoting and upholding high standards of integrity and governance within the Company and cultivating positive working relationships with all
stakeholders.
g) Maintain a conducive work environment that helps attract retrain and motivate employees and foster a culture that promotes ethical practices and good corporate citizenship.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
a) The position holder should possess Bachelor s Degree(s) from universities accredited by the Commission for University Education.
b) Holder of a masters Degree(s) and/or postgraduate qualifications in fields relevant to strategy Finance Accounting Business Engineering and/ or Corporate Management.
c) Leadership/Strategic Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
d) Have not less than 10 years at senior management level in large private or public organization(s).
e) Be a member in good standing registered with the body relevant to their profession(s).
f) Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with Government Financial sector players and other stakeholders relevant to the Company s mandate.
