About the role:

Are you seeking an opportunity to work with Semiconductor manufacturing equipment As an Engineering Technician IV you will provide customer support for onsite installations repairs and maintenance of semiconductor equipment primarily in Hillsboro Oregon.


This is an exciting opportunity to be on the cutting edge of technology and join a dedicated team enabling new technology to improve processes in a preproduction environment.


You will receive training in Austin Texas or Hillsboro Oregon for a period of 13 months.


This position requires fulltime presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s)/territory.

Responsibilities:
  • Check and maintain equipment within factory standard specifications of system equipment.
  • Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system equipment.
  • Serve as company liaison with customer on matters for assigned projects (i.e. installations and major component replacements).
  • Perform complex repair maintenance or unit replacement according to factory procedures independently and with others.
  • Provide technical support to customers and respond to questions regarding operation procedures equipment malfunctions and other technical issues to minimize equipment down time and ensure positive customer relations.
  • Identify and report equipment error and status updates related to equipment performance issues to aid in troubleshooting or maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of activity and provide periodic reports.
  • Conduct training for customer personnel ensuring proficiency of service and operations.
  • Work with other technicians in the field to troubleshoot and service equipment.

Requirements

Please note: this is a customerfacing role and requires compliance with customer policies and protocols which may include COVID19 vaccination and other measures relating to COVID19.

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience (i.e. technical training military training or technical school) plus 57 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system is preferred for operating and troubleshooting the system.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field (i.e. semiconductor manufacturing equipment).
  • Hands on mechanical skills required.
  • Hands on experience with electronic testing tools required.
  • Able to work on equipment alone and work with other engineers as a team player under challenging situations.
  • Additional experience or knowledge in optical lasers software robotics precision mechanical skill or chemical are plus.
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer support experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to travel and work flexible schedules.
  • Must feel comfortable working in a cleanroom environment most of the day (wearing full clean room suit face mask gloves safety glasses).
  • May require International and domestic travel (valid drivers license and acceptable driving record necessary). Additionally because this position requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies.
  • Requires ability to lift to 30 pounds individually and for lifting over 30 pounds assistance may be available.
  • Substantial amount of standing walking typing grasping talking and hearing.
  • Occasionally kneeling crouching stooping reaching pushing pulling and climbing stairs or ladder.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity with or without corrective lenses for extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • The work environment may include a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts electrical current exposure to chemicals ultraviolet light and lasers working in enclosed spaces close quarters narrow aisles or passageways.
  • The work environment may include working in highly time sensitive situations requiring quick resolution including equipment problems.

    Shifts open are:
    7 am 7:30 pm
    7 pm 7:30 am
    Day shift compressed work week gets 10% differential
    Night shift compressed work week gets 15% differential

Qualifications: 2-3 years of experience with PVD or semiconductor vacuum equipment with AS degree is required, bachelor s degree in engineering is preferred. Candidates without an Associate s or Bachelor s degree may be considered with equivalent experience in the same field. Multi chamber cluster systems and robotics experience is highly preferred. Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting. Experience with PLC and other software applications are a plus. Ability to work independently following 3-6 months of on-the-job training. Must have analytical skills for problem analysis and resolution. Decide on a problem-solving road map and follow methodical means to resolution. Decide and recommend spare and consumable parts for PM s and repairs. Bilingual Communication skills helpful but not required. (Japanese/English) Additional Information: Job may require domestic travel up to 25% and international travel for training. May require considerable travel throughout sales territory (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary). Position may require ability to work flexible shifts. Requires ability to lift approx. 50 lbs. Substantial amount of standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking, and hearing. Occasionally kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladder. The worker is required to have close visual acuity with or without corrective lenses for extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. Working primarily in a cleanroom environment (wearing full clean room suit, facemask, gloves, safety glasses) The work environment may include a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals, ultraviolet light, and lasers, working in enclosed spaces, close quarters, narrow aisles, or passageways. The work environment may include working in highly time sensitive situations requiring quick resolution including equipment problems.
