Job Description
Our thriving secondary school in Ealing seeks a dedicated and visionary Head of History to join our dynamic faculty. This is a fulltime permanent position offering the opportunity to shape the future of History education within a supportive and academically rigorous environment.
About the Role:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the History department aligning with the schools overall vision and educational goals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging History curriculum that fosters a love of learning and critical thinking.
- Oversee the work of History teachers providing guidance support and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation teamwork and a deep understanding of historical events.
- Promote the importance of historical literacy and its relevance to contemporary issues.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in History or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrates a strong passion for History and a proven track record of success in leading and developing History programs.
- Excels in leadership communication interpersonal skills and collaboration.
- Has a deep understanding of the National Curriculum for History and the ability to create innovative and engaging learning experiences.
- A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and individual strengths.
