Our new Demi Chef will:
- Assist the chef in charge to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
- Prepare mise en place for all relevant menus.
- Ensure consistent great food production in line with the high quality standards set by the hotel.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared consistently and according to standard
- Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage and assist with ordering necessary food items.
- Comply with all WHS food safety legislation.
- Provide a courteous and professional service and ensure that guest feedback are actioned and communicated to the team
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you must:
- Have at least 1 year work experience as a Demi Chef working in a hotel or restaurant with high food quality standards
- Have the ability to operate various kitchen equipment and practice sound cooking techniques.
- Completion of Chef Apprenticeship or has a Certificate in commercial cookery
- Good food hygiene and safety knowledge including safe and accurate knife skills
- Knowledge and experience in a variety of different cooking methods
- Be available to work varied shifts including early mornings late evenings weekends and public holidays.
- Have the ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.
