Please note: The start date for this role will be Mid October 2024 with an end date of January 15th 2025.
What you will be doing:
- Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service to all guests in a variety of settings including plated and buffet banquets for breakfasts/lunch/dinner working lunches coffee breaks cocktail receptions formal evening events/galas/weddings and offsite catering events
- Serve all food and beverage items for assigned banquet functions
- Explain banquet menus to guests assisting those with special dietary needs or preferences as well as providing suitable assistance when recommending beverages
- Have full knowledge of all beverage lists and all menu items being served
- Clear and reset function space as well as ensuring service areas are clean and tidy
- Assist with function room setup and tear down as specified by meeting organizers
- Follow all policies procedures and service standards including health & safety and food handling procedures
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
- Previous customer service experience is required with previous food & beverage and/or banqueting/catering experience preferred
- Must hold valid Alberta ProServe certification
- Must be physically fit with the ability to lift heavy items (trays chaffing dishes etc.)
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times
