Job Description

Our client is dedicated to supporting mental health for individuals of all ages. They offer therapeutic counseling and professional referrals serving as a vital community resource for emotional and mental wellness for children adolescents adults and families.

Position Summary:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is a critical member of the Clinics medical team. They provide medication management and psychoeducation to clients (and collateral) and liaise with therapists regarding treatment for shared clients to discuss cases and offer consultation to optimize treatment. Further the PNP is a member of the Risk Review team. The PNP utilizes their expertise to offer education to Clinic therapists on various medications as well as cooccurring disorders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provision of Direct Services:

  • Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations for prospective medication management clients and provide medication management to clients
    • Sessions may include family and collateral sessions as needed.
    • Some sessions to be held during evening (some in person/some telehealth) and/or Sunday clinical hours.

Risk Review Team:

  • Attend biweekly (every 2 weeks) 1 hour team meetings to review higher risk cases and make recommendations.

Receiving Supervision/Training:

  • Attend weekly 1 hour group supervision meetings
  • Consult with the Medical Director regarding cases.

Liaise With/Educate Staff:

  • Maintain open office hours for 1 hour/week for staff to discuss cases and to provide consultation/training to staff on medications as well as cooccurring disorders.
  • Reply to emails from clinicians and clients.

Crisis Response:

  • Respond to client crises as they emerge.
  • Serve as a member of the mobile crisis team on call every Saturday and Jewish holidays.

Administrative:

  • 1 hour for paperwork and relevant administrative duties including maintaining documentation as per OMH regulations and SBH standards in a timely manner including writing notes administering injections taking vitals conducting AIMS. (RN will help with doing prior authorizations responding to emails school paperwork scheduling finding services coordinating with other providers)

Success Criteria and Measurements:

  • Provide 2122 direct client contact on evening and/or weekend (Sunday) clinical hours
  • Meaningful contributory participation on Risk Review team.
  • Information and trainings provided on clients medications and cooccurring disorders is helpful and productive for therapists.
  • Documentation completed in a timely fashion
  • Attend all relevant supervisions and trainings.
  • Conduct ongoing productive supervision PNP student intern

Competencies:

  • Psychiatric/behavioral health experience required
  • Selfstarter

Skill and Education Required:

  • PsychiatricMental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) degree
  • New York State Licensure as a PMHNPBC

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting at a desk.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $100140 hourly.

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidates work experience education/training jobrelated skills internal peer equity as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role) if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
