Daily duties and responsibilities: Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities. Performs heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors shampooing rugs washing walls and glass and removing trash. Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients coworkers shift coordinators supervisors managers etc. Complies with all safety security compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the Company Clients and regulatory authorities. Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned. Cleans building floors by sweeping mopping scrubbing or vacuuming them. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Utilizes ladders dusts and washes furniture walls blinds and select equipment; cleans ceilings and dusts light fixtures and ceiling vents. Removes stains from surfaces such as carpet drapes/shades walls and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions. Prepares cleaning solutions per specifications. Strips seals finishes and polishes floors. Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas including application of spot cleaning treatment. Gathers trash and empties in appropriate trash and recycling bins. Wipes and cleans tabletops chairs refrigerators microwaves etc. Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures. Services cleans and supplies restrooms. Cleans interior partition glass windows glass partitions and mirrors. Keeps janitors closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order. Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created. Drives vehicles (if required) to perform or travel to other facilities to clean including vans industrial trucks golf carts or industrial vacuum cleaners. Provides special cleaning and support during client events as needed. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
1 year of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials/authorization. Note: US citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. Some Physical/Special requirements include: Repetitive motions: bend stoop squat kneel stretch reach and wrist movement. Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift. Regularly lift up to 30 lbs. Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions. Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to color coded cleaning microfiber clothes and mops. Wear steel toe safety shoes safety glasses gloves hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.
