Job Description
Sr. Solution Architect
As a Solution Architect you will be a key technical leader responsible for shaping the architecture and design of our critical applications and services. You will work closely with business stakeholders product owners and engineering teams to define and implement solutions that align with our business goals and technology strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and architecture of applications and services across various domains ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and security standards.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements and solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance the companys application portfolio and improve efficiency.
- Ensure solutions are scalable resilient performant and secure meeting the highest standards of quality and reliability.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of architectural standards and best practices for application development within American Express.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in the application services domain including cloudnative architectures microservices and serverless computing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in software development with a strong focus on application architecture and design.
- Proven experience in designing and architecting complex highvolume and missioncritical applications.
- Deep understanding of modern application architectures including microservices eventdriven architectures and cloudnative patterns.
- Experience with various application development technologies and frameworks such as Java Spring Boot Node.js and RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and agile environment.
Preferred skills:
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker Kubernetes).
- Experience with API gateways and service meshes.
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- TOGAF certification or equivalent.
