Roles and responsibilities
The Planner - Demand is accountable for managing the demand plan and all sources of demand for products, equipment in the area of responsibility (division, region, etc.). He or she owns the demand planning process through interaction with Finance, Marketing and or Sales. The Planner - Demand is accountable for collecting and analyzing the demand information, monitoring the performance of this process and continually improving the output and accuracy. The Planner - Demand also interacts with the Supply Planning team to indicate changes in the forecast.
Main Responsibilities
- Improve forecast accuracy by driving the monthly product demand forecast cycle, utilizing the existing statistical forecasting application. Validate data inputs to the forecast and review and fine tune the statistical forecasts, where applicable.
- Collaborate with Finance, Marketing and Sales to incorporate short term and long–term market intelligence into the demand plan at product, customer and m
- arket levels and to develop, document and update the assumptions supporting the demand plan.
- Collaborate with Marketing to incorporate new product introductions, product conversions and product deactivations into the demand plan.
- Utilize exception management and root cause analysis to identify forecast deviations and issues for correction by collaborators.
- Monitor the demand plan performance (forecast accuracy and bias) by measuring actual versus planned performance at multiple planning levels. Prepare performance Collaboration Forecast Accuracy metrics and distribute to collaborators as feedback for continuous improvement.
- Deliver the unconstrained demand plan to Supply Planning in the required format.
- Represent Demand Planning in the S&OP process and meetings.
- Conduct additional analysis projects as needed.
Desired candidate profile
- Degree in Business/Statistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field of study.
- 2+ years’ experience in supply chain planning, finance, marketing or a related analytical discipline
- Experience with ERPs, advanced planning systems, analytical or equivalent software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive decisions and build consensus among stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced technical or business degree, MBA preferred
- Lean Six Sigma project experience and/or Green Belt
- Prior experience with the applicable planning systems
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
