Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Program and Partnerships Coordinator to join our team on a parttime basis (2 to 3 days per week). This role is ideal for someone passionate about cultural exchange relationshipbuilding and providing exceptional support to our participants and partners.
You will play a key role in two main areas:
Program Coordination: Supporting the coordination of exchange programs alongside our existing Program Coordinator in Australia to ensure smooth operations.
Partnership Development: Managing and developing relationships with our partners including schools Alliance Fran aise and other French organizations in Australia.
Applicants must be based in Melbourne as AFX is a Victorian organization where most events take place. Experience working with the French community in Melbourne would be a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination and Participant Support:
Support the planning coordination and administration of student exchange programs alongside our existing Program Coordinator including liaising with families schools and students to ensure all logistics are managed efficiently.
Manage program documentation keep databases updated and handle general administrative tasks related to program coordination.
Serve as the primary point of contact for participants providing clear communication guidance and troubleshooting support throughout the exchange process.
Partnership Maintenance and Development:
Develop and maintain relationships with AFX local representatives AFX ambassadors schools Alliance Fran aise and other key French organizations in Australia to expand the reach of AFX programs. Examples include organizing meetings attending community events and finding new collaboration opportunities.
Event Management:
Coordinate orientation sessions information nights and other events designed to engage and support students families and partners.
Skills & Experience Required
Experience in Coordination within the Australian French Community: Previous experience in a program coordinator or administrative role is highly desirable particularly within education travel or notforprofit sectors.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to engage effectively with students families and partners.
Organizational Abilities: Highly organized with great attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Language Skills: Candidates should be fluent in French and English. Previous student exchange experience is a bonus.
Cultural Sensitivity: A genuine interest in cultural exchange and a demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds. Experience with the French community in Melbourne is a significant bonus.
TechSavvy: Comfortable using digital tools and platforms for communication data management and program organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with organizing cultural or educational events.
Background in partnership development or community outreach.
Experience working with students or youth programs.
