Managing projects
Creating a timeline for the project placing orders for materials and overseeing construction
Ensuring quality
Ensuring the design specifications are met and visiting the site after the project is complete to ensure the client is satisfied
Interior designers may also:
Research and gather information and photographs relating to the project
Develop initial ideas and present these to the client as "sample" or "mood" boards
Work closely with architects and other design professionals
Act as the point of contact for construction contractors
To be successful interior designers should be passionate about design and continuously learn and adapt to industry trends.
