We are working with a reputable secondary school in Sutton that is seeking a highly organized and experienced Premises Manager to join their dedicated staff. This fulltime permanent position offers a unique opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining a safe efficient and welcoming learning environment for students and staff alike.
Position Overview:
The Premises Manager will be responsible for the overall management and maintenance of the schools buildings and grounds. This includes ensuring the security and safety of the premises overseeing cleaning and maintenance operations managing contractors and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daytoday operations of the schools premises including security cleaning maintenance and groundskeeping.
- Manage and supervise a team of premises staff ensuring their work is carried out effectively and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs.
- Manage contracts with external vendors for services such as cleaning security and grounds maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and legislation.
- Manage the schools energy consumption and implement sustainable practices.
- Oversee the allocation and use of school facilities for events and activities.
- Manage budgets and resources related to premises management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar premises management role preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Knowledge of building maintenance and repair procedures.
- Experience in managing budgets and resources.
