Roles and responsibilities

A Bartender engages our guests during their visit, receives/serves orders and ensures brand service standards are met to the highest quality.

What will I be doing?

A Bartender will be responsible for engaging our guests during their visit, receiving/serving orders and ensuring brand service standards are met to the highest quality. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Receive orders and serve customer requests completely in a timely manner
Create and serve a range of beverages including classic cocktails, mixers, beer, wine and soft drinks etc.
Take food orders and assist the floor team with deliveries as required
Understand menu content, any menu changes, and promotional activities
Keep your service area clean, tidy, and well-prepared
Efficiently manage the proper settlement of all customer accounts
Answer guest queries in a polite and helpful manner
Drink Preparation:

Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
Maintain knowledge of various drink recipes, cocktail techniques, and presentation styles.
Customer Service:

Provide excellent service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and ensuring their needs are met.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.
Inventory Management:

Monitor and manage bar inventory, including ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
Keep track of liquor, mixers, garnishes, and glassware, ensuring everything is adequately stocked.
Cleanliness and Organization:

Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including washing glassware and utensils, and disposing of waste properly.
Follow health and safety regulations, ensuring the bar area meets sanitation standards.
Responsible Alcohol Service:

Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and ensure responsible serving practices.
Identify and manage situations involving intoxicated patrons to maintain a safe environment.
Cash Handling:

Process transactions accurately, including cash and credit card payments.
Maintain a cash drawer, providing change as needed and keeping track of tips.
Collaboration:

Work effectively with other bar staff and restaurant personnel to ensure smooth operations.
Communicate effectively with waitstaff to coordinate drink orders and customer service.
Event Support:

Assist in setting up and breaking down bar areas for special events or functions.
Prepare specialty drinks or themed cocktails for events as required.
Continual Learning:

Stay updated on industry trends, new drink recipes, and customer preferences.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to improve skills and knowledge.

Desired candidate profile

A Bartender serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

Previous experience within a cocktail bar environment
The ability to create classic cocktails
Flexibility in hours as you will be working rostered shifts, especially on weekends
Exceptional personal presentation and communication skills
Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations
Passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service
Previous bartending experience or completion of a bartending course is often preferred.
Knowledge of mixology and beverage preparation techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
