What will I be doing?
As a Lifeguard, you are responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of swimmers to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Lifeguard will also be required to fulfill regular cleaning duties. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Supervise and ensure safety of swimmers
Ensure guests feel safe in the pool area
Inspect facilities for cleanliness; complete general pool cleaning and maintenance duties at regular points throughout shift
Ensure swimmers follow safe swimming practice; enforce and adhere to pool rules and regulations
Follow emergency action plan and procedures when required
Monitoring Activities:
Supervise pool, beach, or water park areas to ensure the safety of all patrons.
Observe swimmers for signs of distress or dangerous behavior.
Rescue Operations:
Respond promptly to emergencies, performing rescues and administering first aid or CPR as necessary.
Use rescue equipment (e.g., flotation devices, rescue tubes) effectively.
Enforcing Rules:
Enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment for all guests.
Educate patrons about safety practices and proper behavior in the water.
Preventative Safety:
Conduct regular safety checks of the pool area, equipment, and surrounding environment.
Identify potential hazards and report them to management.
First Aid and Emergency Response:
Provide first aid treatment for minor injuries and prepare to handle more serious incidents.
Maintain readiness to respond to medical emergencies and assist emergency personnel as needed.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with other lifeguards and staff to ensure coordinated responses to incidents.
Maintain clear communication with patrons regarding safety rules and conditions.
Record Keeping:
Keep accurate records of incidents, rescues, and first aid administered.
Participate in regular training and drills to stay current on emergency procedures and techniques.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
Ensure that the swimming area is clean and free of debris.
Assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service, addressing patron questions and concerns positively and professionally.
Foster a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

Qualifications:
Certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid (often required).
Strong swimming skills and physical fitness.
Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
