Job Description

Job Title: Licensed Mental Health Therapist Child Team IOP
Location: Hybrid Fremont CA US
Employment Type: Permanent
Hours: 28 hours per week
Salary: USD As per Exp.

Job Description Job Summary:

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist will provide comprehensive mental health assessment diagnosis treatment and crisis intervention services for children and adolescents in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The role involves collaborating with treating physicians psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals to develop and direct individualized treatment plans for each patient.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Treatment:

    • Develop implement coordinate and evaluate clinical treatment plans for the diagnosis and management of children and adolescents with acute or chronic mental health conditions.
    • Conduct individual family and group psychotherapy sessions.
    • Participate in staff conferences to plan and evaluate treatment programs.
  • Patient and Family Counseling:

    • Instruct and counsel patients and their families regarding treatment plans compliance with therapeutic regimens and prescribed medications.
    • Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families to support adherence to treatment.
  • Collaboration and Supervision:

    • Collaborate with physicians to evaluate patients for psychotropic medications within the therapists scope of practice.
    • Supervise Post Masters Fellows Associate Clinical Social Workers Associate Marriage Family Therapists or Associate Professional Clinical Counselors if supervision training is completed.
  • Documentation and Compliance:

    • Prepare intake summaries treatment plans and case summaries while maintaining confidential records.
    • Ensure treatment and progress documentation is in accordance with state regulations and NCQA standards.
  • Program Development:

    • Utilize community and agency resources to meet the needs of patients and their families.
    • Participate in the development implementation and evaluation of departmental programs.
  • Crisis Intervention:

    • Provide immediate crisis intervention and safety assessments as needed.
    • Report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies in compliance with state regulations.
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters degree in Social Work Clinical or Counseling Psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California
      OR
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California
      OR
    • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California with Couples and Families Endorsement within 24 months of hire.
    • National Provider Identifier (NPI) required at the time of hire.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Experience in assessing diagnosing and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions.
    • Familiarity with DSMV for diagnosis.
    • Ability to work onsite 2 days a week.
    • Experience working with children and adolescents.
    • Eligible to see Medicare patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Several years of licensed experience in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) setting.
  • Experience with crisis intervention and group psychotherapy.
  • Professional maturity ethical integrity and a commitment to delivering highquality service in a multidisciplinary team environment.
