The SACM Analyst ensures that the organizations IT assets and configuration items are effectively managed supporting overall IT service management and operational efficiency. The SACM (Service Asset and Configuration Management) Analyst plays a critical role in managing and maintaining an organizations IT assets and configuration items (CIs).
Key Skills:
Strong knowledge of ITIL practices particularly around SACM.
Proficiency in using and managing CMDBs and asset management tools.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools is often required.
Key responsibilities and skills:
1. **Asset Management:**
Track and manage IT assets throughout their lifecycle from procurement to retirement.
Ensure that asset information is accurate uptodate and accessible.
Coordinate with procurement finance and other teams to ensure assets are recorded correctly.
2. **Configuration Management:**
Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) ensuring that all CIs are accurately recorded.
Regularly update and verify the status and relationships of CIs in the CMDB.
Support the identification and management of CI dependencies and impacts.
3. **Data Integrity and Quality:**
Ensure the integrity and quality of data within the CMDB and asset repositories.
Conduct regular audits and reconciliation activities to identify and correct discrepancies.
Implement data validation processes to prevent inaccuracies.
4. **Process Improvement:**
Contribute to the continuous improvement of SACM processes and practices.
Develop and maintain SACM policies procedures and guidelines.
Provide recommendations for process enhancements based on audit findings and industry best practices.
5. **Collaboration and Communication:**
Work closely with other IT teams including change management incident management and service desk teams.
Communicate SACM policies and practices to stakeholders and ensure adherence.
Provide training and support to teams on SACM tools and processes.
6. **Tool Administration:**
Manage SACM tools and systems such as the CMDB and asset management software.
Configure and customize SACM tools to meet organizational needs.
Provide support and troubleshooting for SACM tool users.
7. **Reporting and Analysis:**
Generate reports on asset and CI status lifecycle and compliance.
Analyze data to identify trends risks and opportunities for optimization.
Support decisionmaking by providing accurate and timely SACM information.
Notes:
Candidates should be based within 50 miles of any of the four clients corporate offices listed above.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite.
