Our client is an industry leading gear manufacturing company. Their customers are in the Aerospace Defence & OEM markets. They are looking to employ on a fulltime permanent basis an experienced Quality Inspector for their newly introduced late shift. This role will be based out of their workshop located in Hampshire.
The basis of the role is to perform mechanical inspection documenting results updating results onto the QMS and signing release documents.
Quality Inspector Late Shift Offer
Shift 1 (Initial Training)
o Up to 20.00hr depending on experience Annual 41600
o Hours are MonThurs 06:30 15:15 and 06:00 13:00 Friday. A 40 hour week 40 hour week
o Breaks are 09:30 10:00 and 12:30 13:00 one which must be taken and cannot be worked 1 break is paid.
Shift 2 (after initial training)
o 20.00hr 20% shift premium 24.00hr (Shift 2 and the premium will start once training and the full shift of staff are in place) Annual 46200
o Overtime x 1.5 only worked prior to the start of shift
o Hours are MonThurs 14:45 to 00:00 37.0hour week
o Break is 18:45 19:15 paid

Quality Inspector Late Shift Responsibilities
Inspect and approve incoming / outgoing materials and products by confirming specifications conducting visual and measurement tests and reporting any nonconforming materials or products
Perform first off inprocess and final inspection by confirming specifications conducting visual and measurement tests communicating required adjustments to production supervisor and operator
Read technical drawings control plans and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services
Document inspection results by completing reports and logs summarizing rework and waste and input data into quality database.
Raising and signing release documents (CofC Advice Notes etc.)
Keep measurement equipment operating
Communicating with the Quality/Engineering department about how to prevent similar defects in the future.
Adhere to the company s health and safety requirements and complete training as required
Quality Inspector Late Shift Requirements
A minimum of 35 years experience in a similar role (preferred).
Strong understanding of quality control / inspection standards and testing techniques/methods (use of micrometres verniers DTIs height gauges CMM etc.) (essential).
Strong understanding technical drawings and GD&T (essential)
Good math and technical skills (essential)
Good knowledge of MS Office (preferred)
General knowledge of gear metrology (preferred).
FAIR/PPAP knowledge (preferred)
