Job Description

General job duties. Types of procedures required. Avea vents Philips monitors Hospira pums EPIC based EMR Artic Sun Datascope IABP. They need to know EKG hemodynamic and medication calculations as they will test them out on these during orientation their first week. Required skills and minimum years of experience. ACLS hemodynamic monitoring vasoactive medication titration management of ventilated patients recovery for procedures/surgical conscious sedation. Prior critical care experience required. Bipap Cpap Heated High Flow Oxygen titration Moderate Sedation Telemetry MedicalSurgical patient care. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT CRT BLS ACLS etc) ACLS and BLS both AHA . SD or compact state RN license. Shift or schedule requirements. Rotating days/nights with 12 hour shifts every other weekend and holiday options for straight weekend if prefer. The employee will not work alone however is required to be on call if census dictates weekends are required. Floating to over units/departments. (If so to which units/departments) Will need to float between Critical Care (CC2 CC3 2800) 3000 Cardiology/3800 Cardiac Critical Care Pulmonary/Pulmonary Acute (IMC/Step Down) and 5000 Ortho/Neuro/Neuro Acute (IMC/Step Down). Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. Together the 30 bed medical surgical unit and 8 bed progressive care unit equips RNs with fundamental critical care experience in mechanical ventilation and provides a solid nursing foundation focusing on safe patient outcomes. With an average length of stay of 4 days on the Wings and 9 days in Acute patient diagnosis range from pneumonia chronic obstructive pulmonary disease congestive heart failure COVID19 and pulmonary embolism to complex cases requiring nursing skills for oxygen therapy intravenous medications moderate sedation monitoring during bronchoscopies chest tubes tracheostomies postoperative care noninvasive ventilation mechanical ventilation in addition to cardiac monitoring. The diverse patient population and supportive family culture of the Pulmonary Unit provides a great atmosphere and exceptional nursing skills. 39 icu beds in three locations (CC2 12 beds CC3 15 beds CCW 12 beds) Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) ICU: 1:2 primarily with some 1:1 with higher acuity and 1:3 when holding overflow or patient transfer status. 1:3 in Pulmonary Acute for IMC RNs other units: 1:4/5 days shifts 1:5/6 night shifts Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. General nursing orientation via CLI computer based training and test outs for competency (see above) EMR training department specific training based on assessment of need and preceptor shifts

Comments:Mostly ICU but may float to sister units NACU/Pulm Acute and Med Surg Cardiology 3800 ratio 1:3 Rotating days/nights with 12 hour shifts every other weekend and holiday. would work either Thanksgiving & New Years or Christmas as the holiday rotation. ACLS and BLS required both AHA . SD or compact state RN license required. 2 years recent critical care experience required. Epic experience preferred. Willing to take local candidates bill rate will be xx8 less
