Surgical Tech - Chamberlain

1. General job duties. Types of procedures required. sterilization of instruments ordering supplies for cases assisting surgeon in surgical cases. The common cases we perform are hernia laporascopic cholecystectomy laporoscopic appendectomy and other general surgical cases. OB/GYN procedures upper scopes lower scopes and we will be starting to do ortho procedures. 2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting medication systems etc.) Our computer system is EPIC (Sanford One Chart). We have on site trainer that can assist with training for this program 3. Required skills and minimum years of experience. certified scrub tech Experience preferred 4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT CRT BLS ACLS etc) .BLS 5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone Is call required If so how often Are weekends required) Our OR hours are 71530 MonFri. We do require call it is 1 weekend a month and a couple days during the week.Scrub tech is expected to work independently. 6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so to which units/departments) Central Sterilzation and Operating room 7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. We have 2 operating rooms. One main surgical suite and one GI room 8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) 9. Dress Code: We have hospital provided and laundred surgical scrubs 10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. Orientation will be provided to department so candidate is familiar with equipment and facility. All candidates must complete online training modules prior to being scheduled in department. Additional Comments:
