Job Description
The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity at Polestar for a R&D Business Controller who can work within a fastpaced and challenging startup organization. You will play an important role in the Polestar R&D team and global finance team supporting Polestar in its growth and expansion. In this finance role you are a member of a dynamic and developing team. You will be working together with our global R&D team. This role is key to steer the profitability of our future products.
The responsibilities
Your main responsibility is to set targets for assigned departments and propose and lead cost activates to reach targets. Continuously challenge and support the R&D teams reporting and strategic analysis including adhoc analysis to support business decisions will also be part of your responsibilities as well as leading the forecasting work both in short and long term aspects. Direct report to the Operational Business Control Manager.
Examples of tasks are:
- Deliver timely and accurate financial information insights and reporting to enable operational business decisions.
- Establish and improve upon existing controlling activities in budget planning and reporting.
- Be an active part of the management teams and responsible for providing financial expertise in decision making.
- Drive cost activities.
- Constantly challenge the business and contribute in strategic discussions.
- Prepare ad hoc business cases.
- Interface and related parties are Operational Controlling team R&D teams and global finance team.
- Become a member that will actively contribute to set up and develop the business control team.
The ideal candidate
We think that you are a person with a lot of energy and broad experience in finance/controlling and automotive business. You have a holistic mindset but are not afraid for get into details and apply a solutionoriented approach. In this role its important to being able to interpret and communicate financial information in a clear and concise way.
Other important skills for this role
- Bachelors degree in business administration (or similar)
- Minimum 5 years experience in controlling and automotive business
- Strong business acumen
- Good at interpret and communicate financial information in a clear and concise way to many different stakeholders including non finance
- Ability to plan coordinate and execute work independently as well as jointly in diversified teams
- Good at prioritize and be able to handle ad hoc requests
