4Sight Search Solutions is currently recruiting an Gallery Marketing and Administrative Assistant for one of Canadas most respected dealers of fine art. They specialize in historical postwar and contemporary as well as living artists bringing quality art and impeccable customer service to clients nationwide.
This is a temporarytopermanent position and this is a great opportunity for someone who has photography website and administrative experience with an interest and passion in this area.
Hours of Work: 9:30am 5:30pm Tuesday to Saturday (40 hours per week)
Rate of Pay: $25.00 per hour
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Website Maintenance
- Photograph new work as it arrives while maintaining a database of artists photos.
- Manipulate digital images and change front page for website.
- Update online inventory daily with sold/holds/new images/exhibitions/biographies etc.
- Make changes to email mailing list and send email/newsletter updates.
Administrative Duties
- Answer phone calls take messages check emails etc.
- Assist with organization of shipment waybills and mailing list.
- Write price cards as new works arrive.
- Update artist biographies and provide printouts/photocopies for clients.
- Input consignments writing invoices approval sheets and consignment forms.
- Prepare FedEx and other shipments.
- Design and submit advertising for various media publications.
Client Service
- Greet clients as they enter the gallery and offer coffee or assistance.
- Broad inside sales activities as required. Help with artist and gallery information.
- Gift wrapping.
Gallery Maintenance
- Assist with other staff in broad gallery maintenance such as keeping the kitchen clean dusting sculptures etc.
- Support window cleaning plant watering changing lights etc as needed.
Requirements
- Preference will be given to those with a background in art frameshop or related field.
- Helpful with a positive attitude and friendly communication style.
- Good computer software knowledge (Word Excel Photoshop Flash and Illustrator)
- Some knowledge of Dreamweaver.
- Experience with Constant Contact is an asset.
- An ability to work independently with an impeccable attention to detail.
- Appropriate business attire will be required.
- Willing/eager to learn with a passion for artrelated products.
