Summary of Services:
The Data Analyst/Subject Matter Expert will support the Base Operational Support Teams in research design data management and data analysis along with assisting program development data analysis education training and field consultative support. The team regularly conducts data audits evaluation of program effectiveness and tracking of programmatic measures of success.
Working Hours
The Data Analyst/Subject Matter Expert work schedule will normally be fromMonday through Friday excluding Federal holidays. However there may be times when it is necessary for the contractor to work after duty hours in support of specific tasks. Although schedule may have to be flexible; it will not exceed 40 hours per week.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Possess a minimum of a Masters degree in Epidemiology Statistics Data Science or Bioinformatics.
- Have a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in advanced analytical skills to include visual analytics in population health and health data surveillance.
- Possess the ability to design formulate conduct and lead data analysis of operational studies on health surveillance data/health records/other relevant military records and risk reduction of negative health outcomes affecting the Department of the Air Force (DAF) total force population.
- Be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of applications Adobe Acrobat and SharePoint and shall have experience to demonstrate expert knowledge in descriptive statistics as well as SAS/SAS EG.
- Have demonstrated experience with writing technical documentation research and development programs and research reports. Examples may include functional requirements documents test plans human subjects protocols technical reports and training material.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within a health analytics related field and working with Department of the Air Force (DAF) related data is desired.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing formulating conducting and leading data analysis of operational studies on health surveillance data/health records/other relevant military records and risk reduction of negative health outcomes affecting the DAF total force population.
- Use judgement and originality in developing innovative approaches to define and resolve highly complex situations.
- Assist in the management of the retrieval and integration of health information data personnel records deploymentrelated records health surveillance registries and other militaryrelated data into useable format for endusers.
- Assist in data collection in support of the Air and Space Human Performance Branch (RHBA) and Aerospace Medicine Studies and Analysis Division (FES) Operational Support Team FESO collaborative research.
- Complete Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative human subject use training (CITI training) and DAF Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training within the first month and maintain annual currency thereafter.
- The primary duties for this position cannot be carried out without this training.
- This course is required for investigators and staff conducting research with human subjects.
- Draft reports prepare and/or present reports documents and/or presentations pertaining to the status of the research and data analysis as requested and meet RHBA projected suspense dates.
- Present results of studies or investigations through briefings technical reports and publication into scientific journals.
- Apply knowledge of science/technology to analyze and resolve multifaceted issues/problems with minimal guidance and collaborate with technical area stakeholders to develop strategies for effective execution within a particular technology area.
- Shall conduct any other functions and duties recognized as being necessary to conduct their primary role within the scope of the effort.
- Support the RHBA mission by coordinating the RHBA and FESO collaborative research projects.
