Job Description
Job Role: Senior Accountant
Location: Rochester NY
Work Type: Fulltime (40 hours/week with additional hours during tax season)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal communication and project management skills. This role will support the accounting department provide operational efficiencies and mentor junior staff members. Senior Accountants are expected to continue their professional growth while contributing to the success of the team.
Specialties
CPA Tax Services Financial statement audit review and compilation and Peer Review
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare personal business and informational tax returns
- Review personal tax returns for accuracy and compliance
- Manage monthly quarterly and annual business accounting tasks
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local tax regulations
- Supervise and train junior staff members
- Assist the Accounting Manager with various projectbased assignments
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the Public Accounting firm required.
- CPA designation or actively working towards CPA certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CCH Axcess software is a plus
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills professionalism and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment while providing exceptional client service
Worksite location & conditions
This position is based in one of four (4) locations but does offer the flexibility to work remotely on an asneeded basis but initially it will be ON SITE for some time being. Locations in Amherst Oneonta Perry & Rochester NY.
This is a fulltime position forty (40) hours per week with additional hours required during tax season.
The position does not require regular travel; although onsite visits to local clients or other offices may be required.
