Independent Chef

Lemongrass Thai TakeAway in Utrecht is looking for an experienced and passionate Independent Chef to join our kitchen team. We are seeking someone with extensive knowledge of Thai cuisine who is capable of preparing both traditional and modern dishes that will surprise and satisfy our guests. Our restaurant is conveniently located in the centre of Utrecht!
Your Responsibilities:

• Preparing and Cooking Thai Dishes: With attention to detail and a love for the craft you will prepare authentic Thai dishes ensuring a perfect balance of flavors and presentation.
• Inventory Management and Purchasing: You will efficiently manage the kitchen inventory ensuring that all necessary highquality ingredients are available. Additionally you will be responsible for ordering fresh products on time.
• Maintaining Hygiene and Safety Standards: You will ensure a clean and safe working environment by strictly adhering to hygiene guidelines and safety regulations.
• Menu Development: You will contribute ideas for new menu items and keep up with the latest trends in Thai cuisine. Your creativity will help continuously refresh our menu.

What We Expect From You:

• Extensive Experience: You have at least 2 years of work experience in a professional kitchen with a focus on Thai dishes and you are fully familiar with Thai flavors and cooking methods.
• Comprehensive Knowledge of Thai Ingredients and Techniques: You possess a deep understanding of Thai herbs spices and cooking techniques and you can skillfully apply these in your dishes.
• Good Communication and Teamwork: You are a team player who can communicate well with colleagues and contribute to a positive working atmosphere.
• Flexible Availability: You are willing to work evenings and weekends and you can be flexible to meet the restaurants needs.

• Diploma equivalent to Dutch MBO level 3 education or higher. (required)
