Job Description

Job Title: Project Manager / Estimator Low Voltage
Location: Remote

Company Overview:
KCI is a leader in the design installation and maintenance of security systems low voltage systems and IT infrastructure across commercial environments and hyperscale data centers. We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager / Estimator to join our team to manage project lifecycles develop estimates and ensure projects remain on time and within budget.

Position Overview:
The Project Manager / Estimator is responsible for researching costs preparing accurate project estimates and managing relationships with contractors and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of low voltage and security system projects. The role also involves overseeing cost control risk management and project scheduling from estimation through completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation & Research:

    • Research the cost of materials transport labor and equipment required for low voltage and security systems installations.
    • Prepare and submit detailed quotations outlining costs for the work to be done.
    • Assess risk levels associated with various projects and incorporate them into cost and project planning.
    • Obtain quotes from suppliers subcontractors and contractors within established time frames.
  • Project Management & Coordination:

    • Oversee projects to ensure they stay within estimated costs adjusting plans as necessary to meet budgetary constraints.
    • Monitor project costs throughout various stages ensuring costeffectiveness and identifying any deviations from original estimates.
    • Utilize RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) credentials as required based on project demands and complexity.
    • Maintain a resource allocation tracker detailing the number of internal technicians subcontractors or additional staffing assistance required for the bid and project phases.
  • Vendor & Contractor Relations:

    • Establish and maintain productive relationships with contractors and vendors to secure favorable pricing and reliable delivery of services.
    • Assist with bids for new contracts by providing cost estimates and supporting buyers in decisionmaking processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in estimating and project management within low voltage and security systems (CCTV access control network cabling).
  • Strong understanding of materials labor and equipment costs related to low voltage installation and security systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously ensuring each remains on schedule and within budget.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and risk management practices.
  • Excellent communication and relationshipbuilding skills with vendors contractors and internal teams.
  • RCDD certification preferred or equivalent experience in low voltage systems.
