Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detailoriented Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this role you will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic tests on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosing treating and monitoring various medical conditions. You will work in a fastpaced clinical laboratory environment utilizing advanced laboratory equipment and technologies.

- Bachelors degree in Science
- Current NYS license as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT) Medical Technologist (MT) or Histotechnologist (HTL).
- 1 years grossing experience preferred.
- Responsible for the accurate gross description dissection and processing of all biopsies routine and moderate complexity tissue specimens according to established protocols under the direct supervision of the Pathologist and/or Pathology Supervisor. Participates in limited technical activities of the Pathology department when needed such as accessioning staining cover slipping routine maintenance and cytology specimen preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic tests on blood tissue and body fluid samples in areas such as hematology microbiology immunology and clinical chemistry.
- Analyze and interpret test results ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment ensuring all tools are calibrated and functioning properly.
- Adhere to strict quality control procedures and laboratory safety standards.
- Collaborate with physicians pathologists and other healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate test results.
- Document and manage patient data ensuring confidentiality and proper recordkeeping.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve any discrepancies in test results.
- Stay updated with advancements in laboratory techniques and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
- Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist (e.g. ASCP AMT or equivalent).
- Proven experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Strong understanding of laboratory protocols and quality control procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
