The IT Supervisor will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the technology systems that support our hotel operations.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management: Lead and develop the IT team, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
System Management: Oversee the management of hotel technology systems, including property management systems (PMS), point-of-sale (POS) systems, and network infrastructure.
Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support for hotel staff, resolving issues related to IT systems, software, and hardware.
Project Oversight: Manage and implement IT projects, such as system upgrades, new installations, and integration of emerging technologies to enhance guest experience.
Security: Ensure the security and integrity of guest data and hotel systems, including adherence to privacy policies and security protocols.
Vendor Relations: Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective solutions for IT needs.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all IT systems, processes, and troubleshooting guidelines
Team Management:
Supervise and mentor IT staff, providing guidance and support for professional development.
Assign tasks and projects to team members, ensuring that workloads are balanced and deadlines are met.
System Administration:
Oversee the maintenance and administration of IT systems, including servers, networks, and software applications.
Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data through regular monitoring and updates.
Technical Support:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff and end-users for hardware and software issues.
Develop and implement support processes to improve response times and service quality.
Project Management:
Manage IT projects, from planning and execution to evaluation, ensuring that they align with organizational objectives.
Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Budget Management:
Assist in developing and managing the IT budget, ensuring that expenditures align with organizational goals.
Evaluate and recommend technology purchases and upgrades.
Policy Development:
Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Develop training programs for staff on IT policies, security protocols, and best practices.
Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure quality service and support.
Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts as necessary.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Previous experience in an IT supervisory role within the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of hospitality technology systems, including PMS, POS, and guest Wi-Fi solutions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, guests, and vendors.
Familiarity with industry-specific security and data protection standards.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus.
Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of IT systems, networks, and software applications.
Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Capable of troubleshooting technical issues and implementing effective solutions.
