Job Description

Registered Manager

Compensation: 50000.00/year quarterly bonus

Reporting to: Director

Scope of the role:

The Manager is required to provide effective clinical leadership governance and management and it is their responsibility to secure sustain and promote the reputation of the home. To ensure the delivery of highquality holistic care and to create a caring environment conducive to individual needs and practice research development within the framework of quality assurance.

Main duties and responsibilities:


Responsible for managing the business and ensuring the facility operates effectively and delivers the very best quality care.

Establish a collaborative open and honest culture in which all team members have the opportunity thrive.

Review skills and knowledge of team members and provide ongoing training and development and conduct annual appraisals.

To ensure policy and procedures are implemented and understood by all the staff to ensure the highest standard of care.

Maximise financial performance of the home deliver on budgetary targets for revenue and profit and increase the percentage of private fee payers.

Purchase stock and budgetary control of all consumable items required for the daytoday operation of services throughout the Home to meet budgeted performance targets for all items of controllable expenditure.

Maintain excellent relationships with the Registration Authority complying with legal and statutory requirements and representing the Home as the Registered Manager.

Act as an ambassador to represent the heart and face of the home to key decisionmakers building a sound reputation within the local community and ensuring yours is the local home of choice and working towards excellence.

Conduct regular reviews with new employees during their probationary period and to always conduct a threemonthly review to confirm the appointment or extend the probation period.

Ensure all staff are annually appraised and that required standards of performance are being achieved to manage underperformance through objective setting and regular reviews and that regular supervisions occur in line with company policy.

Ensure complaints and suggestions are positively actioned and dealt with correctly.

Identify individual training needs in line with the Home s objectives and the employee s performance arranging training and evaluating their effectiveness and ensuring that staff have completed the required training each year.

Hold regular Staff Service Users and stakeholders meetings to provide and receive feedback and administer the questionnaires provided as part of the company s Quality Assurance Systems.

Ensure that all Service Users have an update care plan which is regularly evaluated and actively involves Service Users in the preparation.

Ensure all risks associated with care e.g. moving and handling mobility challenging behaviour and skin care is identified and correctly actioned.

Regularly monitor the delivery of care given by all staff ensuring that the physical social psychological and emotional needs of the Service User are recognised assessed and met.

Ensure the Home and its processes are fully compliant with the Mental Capacity Act and that service users are empowered to make choices where able and where not best interest decisions are made on their behalf involving all those necessary.

Ensure the Home is compliant with DoLS legislation.

Ensure that there is a regular programme of activities which are arranged in line with the Service Users needs.

Ensure an active named nurse and key worker key worker system for all the Service Users.

Additional responsibilities which are commonly expected to be carried out by Registered Managers of Residential and / or Nursing Home.
