Job Description

Our boutique property in Manitou Springs is looking for an enthusiastic handson Innkeeper to join our team providing extraordinary customer service and making a great impression on our guests and the community. We attract both business and recreational travelers many of whom have been visiting us for years. Our Innkeeper is responsible for coordinating and collaborating with staff on all aspects of hotel operations including daytoday management of employees and guest satisfaction. Everyone pitches in with housekeeping front desk responsibilities and general duties as we are a smaller motel brand. We re seeking a motivated individual who can provide leadership and complement our culture of customerdriven service and quality in the industry. Our handson approach to management coupled with a customercentric mindset has consistently resulted in enhanced employee stability and increased productivity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead staff and management to perform meet and exceed the expectations of our guests through genuine and attentive service. This requires a handson approach and the ability to communicate in a respectful and motivational manner with all levels of staff.
  • Set the example of staff expectations by interacting directly with guests and walking the property with staff and management to effectively communicate your vision of an excellent property.
  • Use an elevated level of energy to set a fast pace that delivers quick responses to our guests. Understanding the need to lead the staff to work as a team amongst each other is vital for success as a GM with our company.
  • Conduct weekly management meetings as well as appropriate departmental and staffwide meetings.
  • Communicate with excellence in writing and speaking.
  • Capable of understanding management policies and procedures and holding staff and management accountable for meeting these policies.
  • Capable of understanding standard operating procedures and motivating staff to adhere to them.
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Excel as it will be necessary to compile various reports as well as develop your own for use in analyzing business needs and conditions.
  • Ability to understand revenue forecasts and profit goals. Must know how to read budgets account for invoices and meet expense controls. Forecasting and Labor Control are also vital in the fiscal management of the hotel.
  • Responsible for overall financial accountability and reconciliation for the hotel.
  • A heavy focus on integrity confidentiality and an empathetic approach to staff and guests will be required with the balance of meeting goals and holding staff accountable for meeting and exceeding standards.
  • Assurance that safety standards compliance security and local applicable laws are adhered to and this is a focus for both guests and staff.
  • Ability to sell including developing and utilizing sales and marketing plans and developing and maintaining relationships with guests and business decisionmakers.
  • Willingness to assist in all other hotel departments including housekeeping and maintenance when necessary.

Requirements

  • Must have hotel management experience. Experience with LimitedService Hotels boutique brands and smaller properties is preferred.
  • Experience with reading analyzing and interpreting financial reports such as P&L Payroll Inventories Budgets etc.
  • Some hotel/motel sales experience is required.
  • Assurance that safety standards compliance security and local applicable laws are adhered to.
  • Capable of communicating with a wide variety of people including ownership and management as well as hourly staff.
  • Must be openminded to a variety of guests and their individual needs. Must be able to determine how to meet these needs with the resources available while meeting cost and labor goals.
  • A thorough understanding of Front Office operations Housekeeping Operations and Maintenance Operations. Includes developing and maintaining cost control and purchase strategies as well as scheduling for the needs of our guests while meeting labor goals.
  • Knowledge of Manitou Springs and the surrounding areas and recreational activities is a must.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Ability to interact with and manage different personality types.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work periodical oncall shifts & holidays.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
