In this role, you will be responsible for establishing the strategic direction for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) to align with the company's growth objectives. You will coach and mentor the Jacobs Health and Safety team, overseeing their activities to foster their development in HSE roles. A significant aspect of your responsibilities will involve maintaining and enhancing Jacobs’ ISO accreditations—specifically ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), and ISO 45001 (Safety). You will oversee internal audits related to these standards, ensuring all identified actions are addressed and closed out promptly.
You will be tasked with developing, implementing, and monitoring Jacobs’ annual HSE objectives, and will provide regular performance reports to the Regional Director, including detailed insights for the management team. Supporting Project Directors on Jacobs projects will be a key part of your role, where you will implement HSE considerations within project proposals, Project Execution Plans, and Health and Safety Plans.
Participation in the evaluation of customer feedback will be essential for identifying areas for improvement, both within projects and across the company. Additionally, you will provide HSE consultancy services to clients, ensuring Jacobs’ standards are consistently aligned with the overarching company philosophy.
Your role will also require you to deliver visible safety leadership throughout the organization by effectively implementing the HSE strategy and objectives. You will serve as the primary HSE contact for Jacobs’ shareholders, cultivating strong relationships. Leading audits to confirm compliance with company systems and operational requirements will be another critical function, alongside driving the continual improvement of Jacobs’ internal management system, ensuring that all procedures are current and effective.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you should possess 10 to 15 years of experience in HSE roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a management capacity. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required, along with a NEBOSH Diploma or its equivalent. Experience working in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia, for at least 3 years is essential. Holding an OHS professional designation (such as CRSP, IH, CSP, or CIH) is highly preferred, along with a strong knowledge of KSA legislation.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape HSE practices within Jacobs while ensuring compliance and promoting a robust safety culture.
