Possesses Life Guard certification and authorized to conduct AR and CPR.
Ensures set-up of safety equipment at the pool which includes set up of life saving floatation devices along the shoreline/around the pool; correct flag must be in placed during business hours; first aid kit; posting of business hours; depth of the pool; water & air temperatures.
Responds to any emergency within the hotel, resort swimming areas including ensuring that rescue boat is available at all times.
Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Surveillance
Monitor swimmers and water activities to ensure safety and compliance with rules.
Be vigilant and attentive to signs of distress or potential hazards.
Emergency Response
Act quickly and effectively in emergency situations, including performing rescues, administering first aid, and CPR as necessary.
Maintain emergency equipment and ensure it is accessible and functional.
Safety Enforcement
Enforce pool or beach rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
Educate guests about water safety practices and proper behavior.
Maintenance and Cleanliness
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order around the pool or beach area.
Report any unsafe conditions, maintenance issues, or equipment failures to management.
Record Keeping
Keep accurate records of incidents, accidents, and maintenance checks.
Participate in regular training sessions and drills to maintain skills and certifications.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Qualifications
High School Diploma: Preferred; relevant certifications in lifeguarding or water safety are required.
Certifications
Lifeguard Certification: Must have a valid certification from a recognized organization (e.g., American Red Cross, YMCA).
CPR and First Aid Certification: Required to respond to emergencies effectively.
Experience
Previous Experience: Experience as a lifeguard or in a related role is a plus but not always required.
