The ideal candidate will be responsible for review of schemes and relay settings of protection systems up to 400kV substation networks. The candidate should have a strong understanding of all the Protection philosophies such as Single Line diagrams Protection Logic CT/VT calculations Interlocking schemes Transformer Reactor GIS SWGR’s LVAC/LVDC Systems Battery/Charger and UPS Relay settings Protection coordination SCADA control systems and power system studies etc. The candidates having Qatar Transmission/Distribution network experience would be considered as an added qualification.
Responsibilities:
- Familiar with all the Protection philosophies up to 400kV systems.
- Review and approval of schematic drawing and relay setting of various manufacturer including GE/ABB/SIEMENS/SEL etc and SAT /FAT documents.
- Coordination between client and contractor regarding protection related matters.
- Should be at Team member and collaborate with professional engineering teams to ensure proper functioning of protection systems.
- Provide technical support and expertise as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 15 years proven experience in protection systems including design review.
- Strong understanding of the Protection Philosophies relay settings and protection coordination
- Excellent Communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Candidates must have experience in following testing activities:
- CT/VT Testing
- Protection scheme testing including ACDC Primary and secondary injection and trip logic test..
- Main relay testing including transformer and Busbar stability bus bar topology testing of various busbar arrangements including one and half breaker
- End to End testing and over all stability testing.
- Switch gear interlock testing and Scada signal testing
