Scope And Purpose
Position Overview: The Part-Time Evening Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all student life afternoon events and activities on campus. This role includes overseeing sports practices, intramural events, and ensuring smooth execution of activities that enhance student engagement and campus life during the evening hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise all student life afternoon events and activities, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.
- Oversee sports practices and intramural programs within the campus, providing support and guidance to ensure safety and effective use of facilities.
- Collaborate with student organizations, sports teams, and campus staff to coordinate logistics, including scheduling, equipment, and space allocation.
- Maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants, ensuring adherence to university policies and guidelines.
- Manage event setup and breakdown, ensuring all equipment is properly handled and stored.
- Assist with conflict resolution and provide guidance during events or practices to ensure a positive experience for all participants.
- Communicate effectively with the Student Life team, providing regular updates on event progress and any issues that arise.
- Ensure the safety and security of all participants by monitoring activities and enforcing safety protocols.
- Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in event coordination, sports management, or student activities is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and external partners.
- Knowledge of intramural sports and campus recreation is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work during evening hours, typically from late afternoon to night.
