Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a rapidly growing business in Van Wert Ohio. This role focuses on designing custom machinery and robotics for the automotive consumer goods and food packaging industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in pneumatics electrical systems and hydraulics. Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential as you will convert customer concepts into detailed 3D designs. This role requires creativity and independent judgment to develop functional designs that meet customer specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Conceptualize design detail and release custom "oneoff" machinery.
  
• Apply mechanical theory statutory codes and equipment knowledge in daily work.
  
• Ensure designs comply with OSHA ANSI and RIA safety and ergonomics standards.
  
• Analyze mechanical drawings provided by customers.
  
• Understand industrial and GD&T tolerances related to product design and assembly.
  
• Design and size mechanical/electromechanical components (chains sprockets belts motors etc.).
  
• Manage project timelines and budgets.
  
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure project success.
  
• Lead design teams and provide direction to other engineers.
  

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

• 5 years of experience in 3D design preferably using SolidWorks.
  
• Strong project management skills.
  
• Bachelor s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities demands and timelines through strong problemsolving skills.
  
• Valid motor vehicle operators license.
  
• Professional demeanor when interfacing with customers.
  
• Proficiency with Gantt charts spreadsheets and Microsoft OneNote.
  
• Strong organizational skills.
