An education organization is seeking to hire an Accounting Coordinator. In this seat you will be focusing mainly on accounts receivable. This person will be working alongside 3 other accounting coordinators one in payroll one in AP and one in purchasing. This candidate will report to the Director of Finance. The ideal person for this position has strong AR skills/experience has an education and/or nonprofit background and has used MUNIS or a similar software (highly preferred but not required).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately scan and process incoming checks.
- Ensure all scanned checks are properly documented and recorded.
- Assist with the reconciliation of accounts receivable transactions; both tenant ledgers and subsidy ledgers.
- Support the accounts receivable team with data entry and other clerical tasks as required.
- AR balances and assist with collection efforts.
- Verify and post details of business transactions such as funds received and disbursed.
- Assist in monthend closing activities.
- Generate and distribute accounts receivable reports and statements.
- Review deposits registers.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in accounting finance or related preferred.
- MUNIS software experience a plus.
- Previous experience in accounts receivable or general accounting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with MS office suite Outlook Word and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Associates Degree preferred. Proficient with MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets and data entry skills. Minimum of 2 years experience with Accounts Payable..
