Job Overview
Are you passionate about helping people Would you like to make clients feel powerful after life altering injuries or losses Herman & Wells is a litigationfocused law firm specializing in representing plaintiffs in personal injury and firstparty insurance cases. We take away our clients fear and stress by explaining and acting upon each part of a case and touching base with each client every 30 days. Our firm proactively works up all our cases takes cases to trial. We dont like wearing suits (unless we have to); we do like to be called by our first names. We have a great culture of great people.

As a paralegal working on insurance and personal injury cases here you will be fighting for clients right alongside the attorney. You will not only be helping their cases but you will be talking with clients and helping to reduce their stress that comes with the legal process.

Initially all paralegals begin by working in the office where it s easy to ask questions talk to colleagues and connect as a team.

Responsibilities
Scheduling and setting depositions mediations and hearings.

Filing and serving pleadings in both State and Federal Court.

Communicating with clients.

Helping with discovery.

Calendaring deadlines.

Conducting regular file reviews with attorney to go over status and next steps.

Skills we re looking for:

Mastery of using Florida s efiling portal and familiarity with using JAWS and filing in Federal Court.

Mastery of office technology like Word Excel Outlook and dealing with and working in PDF files.

Proficiency proofreading and editing legal documents.

Experience handling litigated matters.

Ability and willingness to clearly communicate with clients other law firms and others via phone and email.

We are a paperless office that uses technology to handle our cases better and the willingness and ability to learn and adapt to new technology is required.

Proven experience working in a law office or similar legal environment

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Upbeat disposition.



Requirements

Experience:

  • Microsoft Office: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Paralegal: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Litigation: 1 year (Preferred)
  • drafting and efiling pleadings: 1 year (Preferred)
  • scheduling depositions: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Paralegal Certificate (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Pinellas Park FL 33781 (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Pinellas Park FL 33781: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Work Location: In person
